About the Project
DTE recently designed and supplied the roof system for a project at a 72-bed care home development for Oakland Primecare Ltd in Chigwell, Essex.
The Client
Dalton Homes was the main contractor. Dalton Homes are based in County Durham, and they specialise in residential care homes and assisted living developments nationwide.
The Approach
The development was of traditional construction with a plain tile roof on trusses. The span and steep pitch meant that the trusses had to be multi-part, comprising two mono pitch trusses sitting back to back on corridor walls with a fink truss sitting on top.
As a solution, a walkway was formed above the corridor and various items of plant and equipment catered for within the roof space. Some areas were standard eaves, and some dropped eaves with dormers. Overall a very imposing roof, the project is due for completion in August 2019.
