Donaldson Timber Engineering (DTE) are proud to announce its recent sponsorship of Recycling Lives Charity, a charity that supports people experiencing homelessness to get back into independence.
The charity operates a residential facility which offers stable accommodation and tailored support for people, to help improve their confidence and resilience and overcome personal problems. Residents undertake training and work placements to help them with developing skills and finding a career that suits their talents, experience, and ambitions, equipping them to move into paid work.
DTE were approached by Recycling Lives Charity during the heart of the pandemic and were keen to become involved once lockdown had eased and business operations had resumed. Last month, DTE confirmed its commitment to supporting the charity by becoming a bronze sponsor and donating. The donation will contribute to the charity’s work, supporting residents to access training, achieving licenses or certification, helping them to eventually secure work.
Luke Roberts, Managing Director of DTE commented, “When I first heard about the work Recycling Lives Charity were doing, I was completely sold on their mission and values, and knew it was something DTE should be involved in as a sponsor. Recycling Lives Charity is based close to our manufacturing sites in England, and so we were very keen to support them and give back by helping people get the support they need and deserve.”

“We’re very grateful to DTE for this donation. This will help us to support people to get back on their feet, giving them the time and space to grow in confidence, improve their health and gain new skills.
“Just last month we had two of our ‘graduates’ from the program, both moving into their own homes after securing full-time work. One’s not gone very far though, as he’s joined our food redistribution team, while the other is working for a recycling business. It’s always incredible to see just how far someone can come, when given the right support.”
